Receiving Money:
How can the recipient receive money through Alipay?
Alipay users can receive payments through the Alipay electronic wallet or their linked bank accounts.
When the recipient accepts an international transfer through Alipay for the first time, they will receive an SMS from Alipay containing a unique URL link.
The recipient needs to click the link to open the Alipay app.
The recipient can then share their details with you through the Alipay app.
They will need to complete the real-name authentication through the app.
They will also need to sign the service agreement.
The recipient can choose to receive funds in their Alipay wallet or their bank card.
The recipient may need to provide additional information, such as a copy of their ID or address, for verification purposes.
How can the recipient check the transfer status?
Once the funds are sent, the recipient will receive an SMS and push notification from Alipay containing all the transfer details.
For more information, please refer to the step-by-step instructions in English or Chinese.
What should I do if I provided the wrong recipient name or Alipay ID?
When creating the recipient, Wise checks the recipient’s name and the associated Alipay ID. If you entered the wrong name or ID, an error prompt will be displayed on the screen.
Which transfer reason should I choose?
We must comply with the regulations set by the Chinese government, and transfers to Alipay users can only be made for the following four reasons:
- Sending money to family: Alipay may require the recipient to provide a signed commitment letter to prove the relationship between you and the recipient.
- Salary transfer: Alipay mayrequire the recipient to provide a salary slip.
- Goods: Alipay may require the recipient to provide invoices or contracts.
- Services: Alipay may require the recipient to provide invoices or contracts.
If your transfer reason is related to goods or services, the system will prompt you to select a specific reason.
Alipay may also contact the recipient and request additional documents to confirm the transfer reason.
Why was my transfer canceled?
There are various reasons why your transfer may be canceled. For example, your account may require additional security checks at times, or the recipient may have failed to bind their bank card within 72 hours of receiving the notification. Your transfer may also be canceled if the received amount reaches the receiving limit.
My recipient did not receive the transfer notification or SMS link.
The recipient needs to contact Alipay customer service through the Alipay app.
My recipient did not receive the funds, what should I do?
First, verify if your recipient has opened the Alipay app through the SMS link and completed the account verification or bank card binding. If they have, they should contact customer service through the Alipay app.
My transfer failed. How can I find out the reason?
Please contact customer service through the Alipay app for support.
Why can the recipient only receive a maximum of 5 transfers per month?
To comply with regulations set by the Chinese government, the limit of 5 transfers per month is based on the four transfer reasons mentioned earlier: “Sending money to family,” “Salary transfer,” “Goods,” and “Services.”
Can I cancel a sent transfer?
You cannot cancel a sent transfer. If the recipient does not receive the funds within 72 hours, the transfer will be automatically canceled, and you will receive a refund.
